Welcome to Parkside Student Ministries
We are a combined Jr. High and High School group. Our youth come from all walks of life and all backgrounds. There are no cliques here. We are all connected through Jesus. Our vision is to equip our youth for their next phase of life. Whether it be high school, college, military or the job force. Challenges will come with each new level of life and we know they will be more resilient in a solid relationship with Jesus. Through impactful preaching, teaching and a sense of community and kinship, our youth are learning every week that we are STRONGER TOGETHER and JESUS is the main thing. Please stop by the youth room. I would love to meet you.

Placer County Youth Commissioners took a leading role during the visits with Congressman McClintock and Senator Kamala Harris’ office. They shared that they have seen first hand the impact of substance use among their peers and families. Congressman McClintock asked if they could help him understand why some youth today use drugs and they shared an example that some popular music and culture today glorifies drug use and is an influencer of drug use norms. Senator Harris’ Chief of Staff, Nathan Barankin, was generous with his time and expressed that the Senator fully supports our work as Drug Free Communities Coalitions and intends to continue this support.
Michael Lombardo, of Placer County Office of Education helped to express the importance of support for education as schools are key in supporting student and family wellness. We shared resources and information about the work we are all doing here in Placer County. And finally we thanked them and expressed the importance of ongoing support from our Senate and Congressional Leaders. The forum is such an inspiring and memorable experience. We networked with highly successful coalition leaders from across the country and they have become part of our coalition networks. We learned valuable information and resources that we are all applying and sharing in our communities already. From Christina Ivazes, Director of the Coalition for Placer Youth, “The CADCA Conference expands an ocean of reach toward youth substance use prevention.”
